What does a typical day at work look like for you?
No day is the same to start off with! I usually have a weekly meeting with my fellow CAE Engineers on short and long term tasks to ensure we are all aligned on what needs to be done. Depending on what is required, I am either writing code in Python to assist with data analysis for the calibration engineers, or writing MATLAB scripts to improve software design of various features in the vehicle.

What advice would you give your 15-year-old self?
Mistakes will be made but you’ll learn from them, so don’t give up. Utilise your networking skills to find a mentor early in your career and most importantly, enjoy the process!

What are your favourite hobbies, interests and pastimes outside of work?
I’m a massive sports fan and enjoy watching & playing football and tennis. I also love to travel and aiming to do 30 under 30 (travel to 30 countries by the time I’m 30 years old). I’m also a STEM Ambassador and enjoy engaging young people especially girls into engineering through talks and activities.

What is your involvement, if any, with the Women's Engineering Society?
I am currently part of the Early Careers Board (ECB), where I look forward to engage with various events and competitions throughout the year such as INWED, annual student conference and many more.

Where do you see your industry in 25-50 years' time?
I believe the automotive industry will be transformed in 25-50 years time. With the rise of global warming and climate change targets to meet, we will see mostly ACES – Automated Connected Electric Shared Vehicles. Data will become more important to utilise and keep secure with various technologies such as SOTA (Software-Over-The-Air), which enables vehicle manufacturers to provide software updates and fixes without the need for customers to take the car to the dealers.
