Milada Williams

Milada Williams’ diverse career spans the areas of industry, education and the gender equality agenda.
She worked in industry as a Mechanical Design Engineer in UK and Germany, then in Further and Higher Education as a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering until she became involved in the Gender Equality agenda. Milada was an advisor and consultant in this field before taking on her current contract with the Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW).
Promotion of engineering and raising awareness of school girls about the great diversity of careers and opportunities in technical environments is the main aim of Milada’s current work for the STEM Cymru project at EESW.
Milada is a Past Executive President of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES); she has also held positions of the Vice President and Honorary Secretary of WES for a number of years, being involved in governance issues, and the organisation of events and conferences. Milada has international links with academia in other countries, namely the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as with members of INWES / ICWES.
Milada is registered as an Incorporated Engineer, a Member of the Institution of Engineering Designers, a Member and a Trustee of WES and the South Wales Institute Engineering Education Trust. She takes an interest in other women’s issues and development, and supports the work of the UN Women UK. She is also a licensed Springboard’s Women’s Development Programme Trainer.
