Jade Kimpton is a 1^st year Substation Engineer Apprentice at National Grid. She is on a level 4 apprenticeship programme and is currently studying a foundation degree in Electrical Power Engineering at Aston University. Jade joined National Grid straight after finishing her A-Levels at Springwood Sixth Form and she believes that apprenticeships are a great route into engineering.

Jade is really enjoying the challenges and variety which her apprenticeship offers; her favourite experience so far has been the time spent working on site. Once Jade has finished her apprenticeship she wants to work towards becoming a commissioning engineer.

Jade is enthusiastic about encouraging more women to consider careers within engineering and she wants to have an active role in promoting this. Outside of work, Jade enjoys regularly going to the gym and has a keen interest in fitness and nutrition.
